SYDNEY: The 2007 Electrical Retailing Awards (ERAs) introduced two new major awards this year in the IT category, Best Computer Supplier and Best Home Office Supplier, with Toshiba and Canon coming up trumps.
The Best Computer Supplier ERA recognised the supplier who was top dog in the $1.2 billion category according to retailers across Australia, with Acer, Apple, Compaq and Hewlett Packard fighting it out with the ERA winner, Toshiba.
The judges recognised Toshiba’s strong product portfolio in this category with descriptions such as “good design”, “great after sales support” and “best build quality”. Toshiba was also recognised for its ability to provide good market representation and margin for the retailer.
The ERA for Best Home Office Supplier, Canon, was praised for offering retailers a comprehensive range across the home office products category and was applauded for its broad product range known for reliability and consistency.
Other finalists in the running for the inaugural Best Home Office Supplier ERA were Acer, Compaq, Hewlett Packard and Toshiba.
