LG Electronics debuted its new premium soundbar, the S95QR, at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The S95QR boasts an output of 810-watts and 9.1.5 channels of surround sound with five up-firing channels including a centre up-firing speaker – three on the soundbar and two in the separate rear speakers. With IMAX Enhanced, users can enjoy three-dimensional audio when watching compatible content.

Featuring several key enhancements, the most notable is a boost in performance of the new speaker drivers, speaker chambers and subwoofer for deep, resonant bass. For 2022, LG has upgraded the wireless rear speakers from four channels to six, with four front/side drivers to accompany the two up-firing drivers.

Another improvement is to the rear speakers, designed to distribute sound evenly across a wide 135-degree space, giving viewers more speaker placement and angle flexibility. A sensitive receiver allows for more distance between the soundbar and accompanying subwoofer and rear speakers without compromising sound quality.

With a more stable wireless connection, the LG S95QR helps minimise drops or lags in audio output. Thanks to the inclusion of Meridian Audio Horizon technology in Music Mode, the soundbar can up-mix two channel audio to 7.1-channels for more realistic acoustic surround sound.

For gamers, the LG soundbar features variable refresh rate (VRR) and auto low latency mode (ALLM), as well as support for high-quality music streaming services for music aficionados.

The LG S95QR is compatible with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and other AI assistants to control streaming music, adjust volume and change sound modes, using voice. With the LG WOWCAST Wi-Fi audio dongle, listeners can enjoy lossless muti-channel audio without running a cable to the TV.

When connected to a compatible LG TV, the soundbar takes advantage of the TV’s advanced AI Sound Pro feature. Cross-compatibility allows LG TV owners to use one remote to control both the TV and soundbar. Further, with enhanced AI Room Calibration, the S95QR can tailor its sound output by analysing the dimensions of the room to deliver more accurate low-frequency audio that is calibrated for optimum accuracy.

The LG soundbar line-up is designed with the environment in mind. In addition to shipping in 100% paper packaging and using recycled plastic resin for its outer case, the new soundbar models utilise a new composite fibre material that is lighter in weight to help reduce carbon emissions during shipping and transporting.
