At the first-ever virtual CES, LG has unveiled its most comprehensive TV line-up to date with new OLED, QNED Mini LED and NanoCell TV models sporting new panels with improved colour accuracy and greater contrast, an upgraded AI processor and redesigned webOS.

The LG G1 Series features the next evolution of LG OLED TV technology, OLED evo that delivers improved brightness and images with enhanced detail. The LG C1 Series offers consumers a range of size options from 48-inch to an all-new 83-inch model.

The latest LG intelligent processor, the Alpha 9 Gen 4 AI, is available on OLED TVs in the Z1, G1 and CI Series, as well as select QNED Mini LED TVs (QNED99 and QNED95) and select NanoCell TVs (NANO99 and NANO95, range pictured below).

The new processor leverages deep learning to enhance upscaling and with AI Picture Pro, it recognises onscreen objects and distinguishes between foregrounds and backgrounds to make images look three-dimensional.

Featuring a new version of LG AI Sound Pro, the processor boasts virtual 5.1.2 surround sound up-mixing for an immersive audio experience via the TV’s speakers and Auto Volume Levelling for consistent volume between channels and streaming apps. LG TVs also support Dolby Vision IQ and Dolby Atmos and are equipped with new features including Game Optimiser.

LG’s updated webOS 6.0 smart TV platform sports a redesigned home screen, as well as performance and feature improvements for faster access to apps and a content discovery capability for increased personalisation. It is paired with an improved Magic Remote that includes hot keys for popular content providers.

LG said its 2021 OLED TVs have been certified as having 100% colour fidelity by global product testing agency, Intertek.

LG has also introduced its first-ever QNED Mini LED TVs (pictured above) as the top-of-the-line offering in its 2021 premium LCD TV line-up with 10 models in 4K and 8K and screen sizes up to 86-inch.

The TVs represent the next evolution in LCD TV picture quality thanks to Quantum Dot and NanoCell technologies (an industry-first combination in one product) for more accurate colours, with Mini LEDs as the light source for enhanced contrast and deeper blacks.

LG Mini LED backlighting technology on the 86-inch 8K QNED model comprises up to almost 30,000 tiny LEDs that produce peak brightness and a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 when paired with up to nearly 2,500 dimming zones and advanced local dimming technology.

Hygiene at the forefront of latest home appliances

In refrigeration, LG has upgraded its InstaView Door-in-Doorrefrigerators with enhanced features and design innovations. The tinted glass panel is now 23% larger than the previous model to complement the stainless steel design and elegant aesthetic of the InstaView Door-in-Door refrigerator.

The water dispenser in the new LG InstaView refrigerators incorporates the company’s UVnano technology, which uses light to help maintain a hygienic water dispenser nozzle. First introduced in 2017 on premium water dispenser products, UVnano operates once every hour to remove up to 99.99% of bacteria on the refrigerator’s dispenser nozzle.

With voice recognition, users can open the door with their voice by simply saying “Open the refrigerator door”, among other tasks including asking for the day’s agenda or checking the status of the ice and water dispensers.

All new LG InstaView products also feature LINEARCooling to minimise temperature fluctuations and DoorCooling+ to cool the entire refrigerator compartment more evenly, in turn delivering improved food preservation.

In floorcare, LG has showcased its latest CordZero cordless stick vacuum, the LG CordZeroThinQ A9 Kompressor+ featuring a new charging station stand which automatically empties the dustbin and recharges the vacuum after use.

When the CordZeroThinQ A9 Kompressor+ is docked in the stand, the contents of the dustbin container are automatically sucked into the charging station and collected in an attached dust bag. When the emptying process is complete, the vacuum cleaner continues to recharge while docked in the charging station.

The charging station is designed to accommodate the CordZeroThinQ A9 Kompressor+ and its six accessories and nozzles. With interchangeable nozzles, the LG CordZeroThinQ A9 Kompressor+ can easily be switched from a vacuum to mop. One-touch controls, two quick-change battery packs and removable washable filters round out the key features of the latest vacuum.
