Confirms availability in the Australian market.

Samsung showcased its latest robotic vacuum cleaner, the POWERbot VR7000, at the recent Consumer Electronics Show (CES), in Las Vegas. It features powerful suction within a slim design at less than 4 inches tall (97mm) and it is 28% slimmer than previous Samsung robot vacuums. Samsung Electronics Australia confirmed that the vacuum will be available in the local market, although timing has not been disclosed.

Samsung Australia director of home appliances, Jeremy Senior said, “The POWERbot VR7000 builds on Samsung’s range of robotic vacuum cleaners, including the POWERbot VR9200 and VR9300 Turbo. The POWERbot VR7000 features powerful suction and slim design and is aimed squarely at consumers who demand the best in automated cleaning.

“In addition to digitally mapping household floor space and powerful suction, the POWERbot VR7000 introduces a range of new features to help provide an exceptional clean for floors of any surface type.

“Our research has revealed that Australians can spend up to 12 hours undertaking housework each week. The POWERbot range showcases how innovation in robotic and automated appliances can free up more time for customers by reducing the time they spend with traditional vacuuming.”

The unique self-cleaning brush system significantly reduces the amount of dust and hair that gets trapped in the bristles. It collects debris in the center of the brush, facilitating easier transfer into the dustbin to cut down on regular maintenance.

With Visionary Mapping Plus and FullView Sensor 2.0, the POWERbot VR7000 maps and remembers contours of the room to provide thorough cleaning.

The Intelligent Power Control feature automatically adjusts the level of suction power, optimising cleaning functions according to surface type. For instance, when it moves from a hardwood floor onto a carpet or rug, the motor adjusts suction power to the surface for optimal performance. It is IoT-ready, and fully controllable remotely by app. From a smartphone or other mobile device, users can start or stop the machine, schedule cleaning times, and check the cleaning history. It is also compatible with Amazon Echo so consumers can control it using voice commands.
