As one winner expands distribution to Sydney

There were 40 products to consider but only four made the grade in the 2016 Canstar Blue Innovation Excellence Awards. The customer service and ratings agency recognises the best new appliances launched in Australia in the past 18 months.

This year’s winners included integrated gas cooktops, a washing machine, hair dryer and beer brewing system. Pitt Cooking won for its collection of customised gas burners that come in 29 configurations and are hand made in Holland. Samsung took out an award for its ‘Add Wash’ machine with a secondary door feature that pauses the wash cycle for adding extra items. Dyson’s high-performance hair dryer that incorporates Air Multiplier technology found in Dyson fans was also a winner as was Coopers Beerdroid with BrewArt, the first fully automated home brewing set.

Pitt Cooking is expanding its distribution into four Winning Appliances stores in Sydney in addition to two independent kitchen outlets this month, and follows its launch into two Winnings Appliance stores in Brisbane last September.

Canstar Blue head, Megan Doyle said it was pleasing to have such a broad range of different consumer products in the appliance space “which are all about problem-solving and convenience in their own ways”.

It was the second Canstar Blue award for Dyson, which won for its AM10 Humidifier last year.
