Canohm general manager, Robert Costello (pictured below) has announced his retirement after an 18-year stint with the Melbourne based AV distributor.

Costello joined Canohm in 2003 from Scan Audio, now Qualifi, and before that, at Pioneer Electronics. Canohm head of supply chain operations, Dave Coultas (pictured above) will take over as general manager.

“It’s been an amazing adventure with Canohm as we represented only two brands in 2003, Vogel’s TV mounts and Canton Hi-Fi speakers,” Costello said.

“In 2004 we acquired Sangean radios and prepared for the nationwide launch of Digital Radio. Now many years later we stand proud with 10 brands across various channels, more staff operating out of a prestigious new building and turnover that has quadrupled.”

He said the time is right for new blood to take the company to new heights. Costello will remain with the company in a part-time product management capacity until early 2022.

Coultas is well placed to lead the company with a strong focus on stability and adaptability. “We have a great team and culture at Canohm and I take the reins at an exciting time. The goal as always is stable organic growth but with an increased focus on agility so we can better adapt in this challenging Covid environment,” he said.

The new guard at Canohm starts with Mike Swann formerly of Radio Parts Group as national sales manager. Swann brings a background of strong leadership in sales and marketing gained from running a sales team of around 25 with five on-the-road sales representatives at Radio Parts.
