New findings from the Bing Lee ‘Deserving Dads Research Report’ found that that during this housebound economy, fathers are more interested than ever in staying connected and being house proud. And these insights bode well for kitchen appliance gift options such as a coffee machine, juicer or air fryer.

Bing Lee ambassador, Sam Wood said the importance of dads being present and engaged in the home is higher than it has ever been. “The last few months have made everyone realise how important it is to slow down and enjoy quality time with their families. Most of us are saving time on commutes with fewer commitments outside the home,” he said.

The survey found that since March 2020, over 82% of Australian dads have made improvements and changes at home; 44% are more interested in staying connected and spending more time on household duties. Also, since lockdown, 92% of Victorian dads made improvements or changes due to increased time spent at home and are more likely to do so than dads in Queensland (78%) and NSW (81%).

Other key findings from the report were that 39% of respondents claimed to have completed more activities with their children, including home-schooling, playing board games or exercise/ sports, while over a third (34%) have undertaken DIY or home renovation tasks.
