Audio and AV enthusiasts will descend on Melbourne for the annual Australian Audio and AV Show which is taking place at the InterContinental The Rialto Hotel from 17-to-19 October 2014.

Rather than hosting the event in a cavernous exhibition centre, the show aims to replicate the in-home experience by transforming individual hotel rooms and suites into comfortable listening and viewing areas.

Now in its fourth year, the show will provide an opportunity retailers and dealers to mingle and gauge what is getting consumers excited in the market.

The event is predominantly a consumer show however industry passes are available for dealers, manufacturers and retailers that directly engage in the Audio/AV Industry.

The hotel conference rooms will play host to seminars and events during the show including a Turntable Master Class, Sony’s Andrew Hughes speaking on Sony Hi Res and a show by Stereophile’s audio expert Michael Fremer.

Sony’s ANZ head of video and sound Abel Makhraz said the brand will be showcasing its latest products at the show including its 4K TV line up and its High-Resolution Audio (HRA) range of  receivers, audio players, speakers and headphones.

“We decided to get involved in the show as it offers an ideal opportunity to highlight to the industry that HRA is a key focus for us this year,” Makhraz said.

“Famous for our strong audio heritage, Sony continues to lead in this category by delivering products optimised for HRA, which provides superior quality audio over compressed audio formats and CDs. We were the first to market with a complete High-Resolution range of audio products and we look forward to demonstrating Sony’s extensive line-up to the industry.”
