Arlo is rolling out the newest addition to its Ultra Series security camera range with the Ultra 2 Wire-Free Spotlight Camera System.

Delivering an enhanced user experience, the new camera builds on advanced features such as 4K video with HDR and an ultra-wide 180-degree field of view with auto image correction to reduce the fish-eye effect. Improved range and connectivity provide added flexibility by expanding placement options beyond traditional cameras that require an outlet.

The wire-free design comes with a rechargeable battery that can last up to six months on one charge, integrated spotlight, built-in smart siren, premium two-way audio and colour night vision.

The Ultra 2 works with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple Homekit and IFTTT for automation and control.

The hardware is complemented by Arlo’s AI subscription service, Arlo Smart, with a bonus three-month trial upon purchase. Arlo Smart provides extended 30-day rolling cloud storage of 4K HD video recordings, as well as more customisable notifications to detect people, vehicles, animals and packages. With the Arlo app, users can adjust camera settings, view live streams and recordings, or access cloud recordings.

Arlo vice president and managing director for Asia Pacific, Brad Little said the Ultra 2 offers enhancements that improve upon its best-in-class predecessor by providing added flexibility.

“Ultra 2 expands placement options with enhanced range and connectivity together with an award-winning, wire-free design, a long-lasting rechargeable battery and customised Arlo Smart notifications via the Arlo app, enabling users to confidently take control of their security,” he said.

The two-camera kit is available for RRP $1,049 and the three-camera kit retails for $1,449. An Ultra 2 add-on camera can be purchased for $449.
