Taree Leading Appliances has committed to a partnership with Jaycar Electronics to offer a competitive advantage within today’s tough retail climate. The store has added on and opened up its shop floor to cater to Jaycar products, including wires, cables, accessories, components, surveillance and more.
Store owner Peter Bolte (pictured) told Appliance Retailer that store traffic has increased by 40% since the retailer added Jaycar products to its portfolio on June 1 this year.
“It is the best decision we have made for our business. We are exceeding customer expectations and have opened the opportunity to service a new customer demographic,” he said.
“It has also had a flow-on effect. A number of customers who come in to shop for Jaycar products then decide to purchase an appliance or home entertainment device in one transaction. We want to stay relevant to our local community and only expect this to become bigger and better over time,” he added.
“The closest Jaycar store outside Taree is 80km north in Port Macquarie or 200km south in Salamander Bay, NSW so customers are very pleased that we are saving them a one or two hour drive,” Bolte explained.
