Amazon has announced it will purchase vacuum cleaner maker iRobot. The deal, said to be worth around $1.7 billion, adds to the company’s growing list of smart home appliances.

iRobot vacuums, that includes the Roomba vacuum are sold through retailers including The Good Guys and Harvey Norman and distributed in Australia and New Zealand by IXL Home.

Appliance Retailer contacted Harvey Norman and IXL Home for comment.

Amazon is no stranger to big acquisitions. In 2017 it purchased Whole Foods for $13.7 billion and last month announced it would buy healthcare group One Medical for approximately $3.9 billion.
