While many brands and retailers gear up for Mother’s Day by tenuously linking their products with the special day (‘Does your Mum want to win a ride-on mower/cat grooming class/men’s shaving set?’) Sunbeam is running a consumer promotion that features a strong maternal element this year.

The small appliances manufacturer is offering 5 customers the chance to win a trip for two to Sydney to enjoy a special dinner at renowned Sydney restaurant Billy Kwong, hosted by celebrity chef Kylie Kwong and her mother Pauline Kwong.

The prize is open to consumers who purchase any Sunbeam product between 1 April and 30 June 2012, and also includes return airfares to Sydney and two nights’ accommodation for two people, as well as $300 spending money.

Customers who purchase selected Sunbeam products (see below) will also receive a copy of Kylie Kwong’s Recipes and Stories Cookbook as a gift with purchase, valued at $39.95.

In another promotion, Sunbeam is offering customers who purchase selected espresso machines (between 1 April and 30 June 2012) the chance to win a trip to a coffee plantation in Byron Bay.

“This memorable escape offers coffee lovers a trip for two to Byron Bay, where they will visit the plantation and attend a coffee masterclass taught by one of Sunbeam’s award winning Baristas,” said a Sunbeam spokesperson. “Also included are return economy airfares, two nights’ accommodation including breakfast and a beautiful dinner at a local Byron Bay restaurant.”

Both promotions will be spruiked through Sunbeam’s website and Facebook page, and will be accompanied by in-store POS materials including posters, pads and tent cards.
