De’Longhi Australia has been selected as one of the 20 finalists in the global Million Dollar Memo Challenge, a competition launched by Tourism Queensland as part of the state’s rebuilding efforts following a string of natural disasters in early 2011.

Should they emerge victorious, De’Longhi plans on hosting its inaugural global conference in sites throughout Queensland, showcasing the state’s natural wonders to its employees and key business partners, according to Captain Christina.G, who is managing De’Longhi’s entry.

“We were ecstatic when we received the call from Tourism Queensland CEO Anthony Hayes advising us we had made it into the Final 20 companies for the Million Dollar Memo Challenge,” ahoyed Christina.G, who is also known as sales coordinator Christina Giles.

“We were all gathered in general manager Tom Mitchell’s office jumping up and down and so happy that all of our hard work had paid off."

In her role as Team Captain, Christina.G will travel around Queensland at the end of August to compete on behalf of De’Longhi. The winning entry will be announced in Port Douglas on 31 August 2011.

“If De’Longhi is chosen as the winner, we plan to hold our first ever global conference in Queensland,” said Captain Christina.G. “We will be bringing key representatives from De’Longhi and Kenwood from all over the world, to several beautiful locations within Queensland and showing them all that the Sunshine State has to offer.

“We will then all come back together to hold our conference within one central location in Queensland and report back by way of visual content as to why Queensland is the state that shines.”

De’Longhi is looking for the industry to support its entry, with Captain Christina.G setting up a Get On Board campaign. Details on which companies have already signed up and how more can join are available here.
