Microsoft has today appointed a new Retail Sales and Marketing Lead in Australia. Andy Coughlin is the new appointee. He will be responsible for all Microsoft products sold through the retail channel in Australia.

Coughlin’s remit will include the sales and marketing for all Xbox assets, including the 360 console, Kinect and Xbox Live , in addition to software including Windows 7 and Office.

Before coming to Microsoft Australia from the US 18 months ago, Coughlin had worked for Microsoft for 10 years.

“Andy has a deep understanding of Microsoft and all retail disciplines and will continue to be instrumental to the success of the Retail Sales and Marketing business in Australia,” said Microsoft consumer channels group lead David McLean. “He is incredibly passionate and is admired by his team for his strong leadership, enthusiasm and expertise.”

Coughlin said he was excited by this promotion.

“Microsoft’s retail business is in an incredibly exciting place, with more focus than ever before on the consumer, new technologies and their personal experiences across retail,” he said. “I am thrilled to be leading such a strong team of individuals who are equally passionate about the future of technology, innovation and retail in Australia.

“I look forward to working even more closely with our retail partners, whose continued support of Microsoft is invaluable in delivering unique experiences to Australians.”
