Zip Water has been awarded a gold medal sustainability rating by global provider of business sustainability ratings, EcoVadis.

Submitting to a rigorous review process that covered four areas of the business, Environment, Ethics, Labour and Human Rights, and Sustainable Procurement, Zip was found to be in the 93rd percentile of companies assessed by EcoVadis.

The ratings and scorecards demonstrate how well a company has integrated the principles of sustainability into its business and management system, while also providing feedback for future improvements.

Zip managing director of Australia and New Zealand, Mike Abbott said the recognition of strides Zip has made in implementing sustainability practices was pleasing.

“We’re committed to doing our part to ensure a sustainable planet – whether that’s fostering the reduction of single-use plastic consumption, the provision of safer and cleaner drinking water, mitigating climate change, or increasing and celebrating diversity, equity, and inclusion,” he said.

“To be recognised by EcoVadis is tremendous. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far, and we’ll continue to work towards our ambitious ESG plans.”
