UnderCurrent's favourite sentence of the day goes to the talented public relations scribe who penned this delightful note in a press release announcing that Hitachi Global Storage Technologies was being rebranded as 'HGST, a Western Digital company':
"Under the common ownership of WDC, HGST and WD are operating as separate subsidiaries with separate distinct brands and products, to meet the conditions of antitrust regulators."
UnderCurrent sincerely hopes WD was listening to REM while eating KFC and drinking A&W while writing this PR.
(Proper Journalist would like to jump in and add that the release goes on say that "there will be no change to HGST’s current business with the rebranding. All HGST products will continue to be available except for products that reach end-of-life in the ordinary course of business. HGST will honor all warranties in accordance with their respective terms.")
