Although Optus is normally reserved in its press releases – generally sticking to the facts – the excitement of releasing the iPad 2 has overcome this conservatism. In a paragraph that would make Apple PR proud, the Optus spokesperson announcing this has displayed some rare effusion for this launch.

“iPad 2 is the next generation of Apple's magical device for browsing the web, reading and sending email, enjoying photos, watching videos, listening to music, playing games, reading ebooks and much more,” he said.

“The amazing new iPad 2 improves on the original iPad by being thinner, lighter and faster, all while maintaining the same incredible 10 hours of battery life.”

Current.com.au will publish all the pricing and release date information as it becomes available.
