Yamaha has expanded its high-end headphone lineup with the launch of two new premium models, the YH-4000 and YH-C3000, both designed to deliver detailed sound and comfort while drawing on the company’s heritage in music and craftsmanship.
The YH-4000 is an open-back model featuring Orthodynamic drivers and is directly inspired by Yamaha’s flagship YH-5000SE. It offers a more intimate and energetic sound profile, supported by ultra-thin planar magnetic diaphragms and Japanese-made PET mesh filters designed to enhance midrange density and bass response.
The headphones weigh 320 grams and include magnesium housings, hybrid ear pads made from suede and PU leather, and a two-layer adjustable headband to ensure long-wear comfort.
The YH-C3000 is a closed-back model equipped with newly developed Armodynamic drivers. These use a three-layer diaphragm incorporating Zylon, a material also used in Yamaha’s high-end speakers, to balance lightness, rigidity and internal damping.
The headphones feature housings crafted from beech wood, painted and polished to reveal the natural grain, reflecting Yamaha’s instrument-making expertise. At 330 grams, the model includes a two-layer headband and memory foam earpads wrapped in silk protein leather to provide a snug, fatigue-free fit.
Both models are manufactured in Japan at the same Yamaha facility that produces grand pianos and audio components, underscoring the company’s focus on precision and craftsmanship.
Yamaha said the new headphones reflect its True Sound philosophy, which aims to reproduce audio as the artist intended, with lifelike realism, depth and spatial precision.
