Designers, marketers and hip creatives will be suiting up tonight Barney Stinson-style and sashaying to the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay, in Sydney, for the 2013 Australian International Design Awards.
Held concurrently with VIVID Sydney for the first team this year, the 2013 Awards promises to be a spectacular and dazzling celebration of lights, colours, industrial design and ‘lifestyle products’.
Hosted by reigning Australian of the Year and Cold Chisel song subject Ita Buttrose, these Awards are the only expertly judged recognition of craftsmanship and product pragmatism available to suppliers of goods and services to the Australian market.
The appliance and consumer electronics industry has once again supported these awards grandly and, due to a shake-up of the Awards’ make-up, one product from each of these broad segments will be presented with a Best in Category Award tonight, placing them in the running for the overall Design Award of the Year accolade, won last year by James Cameron and co’s Deep Sea Challenger submarine.
