Sunbeam is turning up the heat for winter, emphasising its broad product range in heaters and heartwarmers, and its efforts to promote the brand directly to consumers.

“There’s no use pretending,” said general manager, marketing, John Turnbull. “The mercury has dropped and winter is well and truly here.”

Turnbull highlighted Sunbeam’s range of portable heaters, ranging from a compact ceramic at RRP $69 to the Dual Micathermic Convection Heater at RRP $129.

Sunbeam also has a large range of electric blankets on offer, including quilted, fitted, waterproof and Australian wool fleece blankets for the bed, as well as the new Feel Perfect Faux Fur Throw Rug (TR6100, RRP $139).

The Throw features a thick faux fur texture with micro fleece on the reverse side, as well as detachable controls and nine heat settings, and the throw itself is also machine washable.

Winter is also the season for Sunbeam small appliances, being that it ties in nicely with the brand’s investment in MasterChef Australia sponsorship.

“Sunbeam continues to support the category through its partnerships with successful TV franchises,” said product manager for cooking Nicole Norton. “As a lead sponsor of MasterChef Australia, Sunbeam is stimulating consumer interest in the benchtop cooking category.

“These shows support the sell-in process by demonstrating the products’ ease of use and multifunctionality. This gives home chefs the confidence that they too can replicate these cooking styles and menus to produce restaurant quality meals for their family and friends.

“Our sponsorship of MasterChef will include strong cooking product placement, branded cooking challenges, TVC campaigns and billboards across the winter cooking season, helping to further support our retail partners.”

Although Sunbeam suggests the Aviva Pressure Cooker is the small appliance du jour for winter, Current.com.au has a soft spot for the Pie Magic range:

Sunbeam Pie Magic (RRP $79).
