SYDNEY, NSW: Canon has launched the 2011 Eos Festival of Photography, which is a collection of events sponsored by the Japanese digital imaging specialist.
There are four events on the 2011 calendar:
Head On (5 May-11 June): 70 galleries, parks and cafes across Sydney.
AIPP Professional Photography Awards (24-26 June): Sydney Exhibition and Convention Centre
World Press Photo (4-26 June): Brisbane Powerhouse; and (2-24 July) State Library of NSW.
Photos — 1440: A Day, A Minute, A Moment (2-24 July): State Library of NSW.
“The Canon Eos Festival of Photography is founded on our continued support of the photographic industry through showcasing the highest level of photographic excellence,” said EOS brand manager Chris Macleod. “As the leading DSLR camera brand in Australia, Canon Eos aims to inspire photographers of all levels to explore the creative possibilities that photography offers.”

The Nespresso Citiz & Milk has been named the best small appliance in the Australian Women’s Weekly Product of the Year Awards. This award was voted on by consumers, mostly readers of the magazine, which has a circulation of 300,000, according to Nespresso.
“The Australian Women's Weekly is one of Australia’s most trusted and well-read publications. Achieving first place in the small appliance category is acknowledgement of Nespresso’s commitment to delivering the highest quality machines and coffee,” said Nespresso Oceania market director Renaud Tinel. “Receiving this award is a valuable recognition and one that we hope will assist consumers as they make the best, most informed purchase decision.”
