Ricoh has announced the impending release of the GR Digital IV fixed lens camera. Ricoh is distributed in Australia by Tasco Sales.

Noted for its street photography credentials, Ricoh will be releasing this new model in black and a limited edition white model.

Key features of the GR Digital IV include improved autofocus speed and accuracy from the preceding GR Digital III camera. This is due to the introduction of the Hybrid AF System.

Also improved is image quality, with Ricoh reporting colour reproduction enhancements and colour noise reductions due to the new GR Engine IV.

There’s also a new, “high-brightness” 3-inch LCD monitor, which includes white pixels among the traditional R/G/B spectrum, which improves outdoors visibility, according to Ricoh.

The GD Digital IV has a 10-megapixel sensor, 28mm/F1.9 GR lens, 4x digital zoom and continuous shooting at approximately 1.54 frames per second.

The Ricoh FR Digital IV will released in mid-October for RRP $799.

The retro-style limited edition white GR Digital IV should prove popular with hipsters.
