Mitsubishi Electric launched its latest refrigerator at Sydney’s Oatlands House today, showing off a new 6-door model to key retail partners. The 637-litre capacity MR-E62S features Hikari Supercool Freezing as well as anti-bacterial and deodorising features, and offers a first-of-its-kind revolving top shelf.

Speaking about the new model, Mitsubishi Electric business development spokesperson, Jean-Marc Adele, was talking up the size of the company’s latest refrigeration offering.

“Bigger is better,” said Adele. “Our new MR-E62S 6 door refrigerator is a revolution in fridge design.”

“Increased energy efficiency (a 3-star rating), Supercool Freezing technology keeping food fresh and delicious, and our unique revolving shelf are just some of the value added features in the new MR-E62S,” Adele added.

Freezing in the unit is controlled by a sensor, to prevent the temperature fluctuations that cause frost on food, while a the automatic ice maker can be completely removed for washing.

The MR-E62S also features an anti-bacterial Active Vio Deoderiser which filters odour-causing contaminants and protects food with fresh clean air, ensuring it lasts longer.

Inside the refrigerator there is a two-way flexi shelf and an elevating shelf to increase storage space, while the useless space that conventionally remains at the back of the top shelf becomes usable thanks to the fridge’s revolving shelf.

“The Revolving Shelf in the MR-E62S allows the effective use of dead space, with the refrigerator capacity essentially being increased, as it rotates a full 180 degrees.”

The MR-E62S will be available from selected retail outlets in late November, for RRP $3,799.
