Wendy Hammond has been appointed country director for MiTac Technology Australia & New Zealand, the company behind the Navman and Magellan satellite navigation device brands. Hammond replaces Marcus Fry, who has joined Logitech Australia.

MiTac Technology media release:

"Hammond joined MiTac six years ago as marketing director and over this time has seen the category grow and evolve into outdoor and fitness products, as well as its market leading motoring GPS devices.

"She was responsible for highly visible and irreverent advertising campaigns for Navman that have helped cement the brand as a market leader, as well as working closely with retailers.

"Today Navman is the best-selling GPS device in Australia and the acclaimed Magellan range of GPS devices for bushwalkers, boaties and other outdoor enthusiasts is selling well.  Six months ago the company introduced its first Magellan multi-sport fitness devices onto the Australia market, Magellan Switch.

Wendy Hammond said in a statement:

“Marcus and I have worked closely together over this time and it has been a great partnership.  While I am excited to step into this new role, I know the team and I wish him all the best in his new endeavours."
