Air quality has never been more important with a heightened awareness around health and hygiene as people spend increasing amounts of time inside their homes due to Covid.

The TruSens Z-3000 Air Purifier responds to this demand by leveraging a range of innovations including TruSens SensorPod, PureDirect technology and DuPont filtration to ensure cleaner air for rooms measuring up to 70m2.

PureDirect technology is engineered to reduce areas of low air flow to better distribute cleaner air by using two airflow streams.

The SensorPod is a separate module that is recommended to be placed on a tabletop or counter across the room from the main air purifier unit. It takes air quality readings and communicates back to the purifier in order to provide greater accuracy compared to other air purifiers on the market.

The 360-degree DuPont HEPA filter captures pollutants and VOC gases/odours from all directions and then UV mode can be activated to help kill germs and bacteria that can get trapped in the filter.

The TruSens Air Purifier is relatively compact, given its powerful enough to be used in a space of up to 70m2. Its design is smart and sleek to seamlessly fit into any home and the carry handle makes it easy to transport between rooms.

The capacitive touch display is intuitive and easy to use – so much so that you don’t even need the user manual – while the colour-coded illuminator ring shows good, moderate or poor air quality at a glance.

When the ring is blue and the number is between 0 and 50, air quality is good; when it is yellow and between 50 and 100, it means air quality is moderate, and when it is red and over 100, air quality is poor. Simple, right?

The illuminator ring is complemented by touch buttons to control power, fan speed, dimmer, timer, UV mode and reset (only when the filter has been replaced).

There are several fan speeds to choose from including auto, whisper, 1, 2, 3 or turbo. The air purifier will also automatically adjust fan speed in response to the air quality readings from the SensorPod. The unit is relatively quiet on most speeds, with the exception of turbo. On turbo, the unit is a little overpowering if watching TV or listening to music, but this mode would only be required if the illuminator ring and numerical value show poor air quality and you want to improve it quickly.

The dimmer function is perfect for night time as it switches off the illuminator ring and backlit buttons so the display is completely black – perfect for movie time in the living room or sleep time in the bedroom. There is also a timer for two, four, eight or 12 hours which is helpful if you don’t want to operate the unit 24/7.

Although the air purifier’s display is super intuitive, it is surprising that the unit does not come with a remote control as this would be a handy inclusion and further enhance the interaction with the unit, particularly to change settings from the lounge or in bed.

For RRP $599, the TruSens Air Purifier is a great addition to the home that can be used year-round. The contemporary design complements any home décor, the display is easy to understand, and the unit operates quietly.
