The digiDirect Group Leaders Conference

The digiDirect Group, which owns national retail brands Booktopia, digiDirect, James Bennett and Mwave, has outlined its plans for future growth at its inaugural Retail & Logistics Leaders Conference held at the InterContinental Sydney.

The event marked a major milestone for the company, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of its founding business, digiDirect, and one year since its acquisition of Booktopia. The purchase of James Bennett and Mwave followed within months, driving a period of rapid expansion across the group.

More than 75 staff attended the two-day conference, which brought together teams across retail and logistics to align on key goals and metrics of success. The group unveiled its “digi28: The Evolution” strategy, which sets a roadmap for sustainable growth through to 2028 and beyond.

“The revolution created momentum. The evolution will deliver stability,” said Haig Kayserian, Director of Retail & Logistics at The digiDirect Group.

The company said its strategy will focus on strengthening its technology, logistics, planning and marketing capabilities to build on the momentum achieved over the past 12 months.

Shant Kradjian, Founder, Chairman and CEO of The digiDirect Group, said: “It’s a proud moment to celebrate a number of milestone occasions for the business and reflect on the journey to get here. We are buoyed by how the business units are performing and looking forward to uniting all of our teams together as we look ahead to delivering more success.”

Supplier partners including Fujifilm, Panasonic, OM System, Nikon, Sony, Gigabyte, MSI, Thermaltake and Canon Australia joined the conference to celebrate achievements and discuss upcoming opportunities. AI leaders from Salesforce also delivered a keynote presentation on the role of artificial intelligence in omnichannel retail.

“Our supplier partners play a critical role in the way we do business and we are proud and thankful for having great, long-standing successful relationships, which have supported us on our journey. I’d like to thank all of our partners for their active involvement in the conference agenda and we’re excited about what the future holds together,” said Kayserian.

“Most importantly, I’d also like to thank all of the staff who contributed in creating a successful event and with their talents, we are encouraged about bringing our strategic vision and roadmap to life.”

Sina Clayton, Director of Finance & Operations at The digiDirect Group, added: “With work on a number of important initiatives well under way, the conference provided a great opportunity for our staff and partners to step away from the day-to-day and set the scene for what’s to come. It’s a really exciting time for the business and we’re thrilled by the significant potential in what we can achieve as we look ahead.”

The digiDirect Group said further updates aligned with its strategy will be announced in due course.
