Hagemeyer Brands Australia (HBA) today informed its retail partners that there may be disruptions stemming from the handing over of the Polaroid brand to its new distributor, Australian Photo Supplies (APS).

In a letter to retailers obtained by Current.com.au, HBA said it is now focused on core brands, with JVC and Polaroid described as “non-core”. It was announced this week that JVC is being transferred to Kenwood.

“Further to the sale of Hagemeyer Brands Australia from Rexel to the Shriro Group, it was decided to concentrate on its core businesses and, where possible, divest ourselves of certain ‘non-core’ brands, with Polaroid being one of those,” reads the letter.

“Obviously with this change comes some disruption to such things as invoicing, trading terms, et cetera, and both parties are keen to ensure a smooth transition during this process. I would expect that you will have several communications in the coming weeks from both parties, with [the] team wishing to conclude any outstanding claims and/or rebate agreements up until 31 October 2011.”
