Technics has unveiled the SL-1200MK7, a silver version of its acclaimed SL-1210MK7 Direct Drive Turntable, which launched in Australia in late 2019.

The new Technics SL-1200MK7 is styled with a premium all-silver chassis in response to global feedback from DJs and sales partners.

Panasonic Australia product marketing manager for audio and video, Aaron Waters said, “I am proud to introduce this new styling in Australia, boasting the same uncompromising Technics approach to premium design and performance.”

The silver SL-1200MK7 enjoys the same capabilities as its black counterpart, including a coreless direct drive motor, sensitive yet robust tonearm, two-layer structure platter, high rigidity cabinet and high damping insulator. There is also a starting torque/brake speed adjustment function, pitch control function and reverse play function.

The SL-1200 was initially launched as a popular direct drive turntable in 1972. It became a best-selling model with cumulative sales of 3.5 million units and the series remains highly acclaimed by DJs worldwide today. The SL-1200MK7 will be sold concurrently with the current model and will be available in May 2021 via selected audio specialist retailers for RRP $1,749.
