Extensive experience in CE well-sought after.
In a surprise move, the former managing director of Sony Australia and New Zealand, Carl Rose, has been named Samsung’s new vice president of consumer electronics. In his most recent role, Rose was the managing director of his own consulting firm, CR Consulting, following his 26 year tenure with Sony working across various roles in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Effective February 29, 2016, Rose will report to president, Harry Lee.
In his role, Rose will leverage his extensive experience in consumer electronics and business management to oversee television, audio visual, home appliances, air conditioning and CE business solutions within Australia.
In a company statement, Rose said, “I am very pleased to join Samsung at an exciting time for the company’s consumer electronics division. Samsung continues to be at the forefront of its industry, which it demonstrated at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January when it unveiled its diverse range of connected products and services.”
“The company has an incredible line-up for 2016: from its new range of SUHD TVs featuring high dynamic range (HDR) and enhanced picture quality; to its truly innovative home appliances such as the AddWash front loading washing machine and Family Hub refrigerator.
“It is an honour to join Samsung as its brand continues to go from strength-to-strength both in Australia and globally. I look forward working with the team to take the business to new heights,” he added.
Lee commented, “Carl is uniquely placed to lead Samsung’s consumer electronics division with his deep understanding and years of experience working across the audio visual market, his relationships with customers and networks across the industry.
“I am confident that Carl will lead Samsung’s consumer electronics division to continue its growth and success in Australia.”
