Sony has confirmed details of its 2023 Bravia XR TV line-up with pricing yet to be confirmed ahead of the scheduled May 2023 launch.

The three new models – X90L Full Array LED, A95L QD-OLED and A80 OLED – feature the updated Cognitive Processor XR with new XR Clear Image technology to improve noise reduction and clarity with motion reducing blur. The processor enables better backlight control of local dimming zones, increased brightness and reduced blooming.

Each model offers Acoustic Centre Sync, allowing the use of both TV and soundbar sound for richer bass and a wider sound field, and works with Sony soundbars to deliver 360 Spatial Sound Mapping which generates phantom speakers and sound field optimisation. In addition, the A95L and A80L incorporate Acoustic Surface Audio+ with actuators that vibrate to produce sound from the entire screen.

The range provides exclusive features for gamers using a PlayStation 5 console including Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode, which both optimise picture quality. Using the Game Menu, gamers can tailor settings to their preferences such as turning on/off VRR or Motion Blur Reduction, as well as increase the brightness in dark areas with the Black Equaliser.

Coming this year is the ability to customise the size of the screen with the Screen Size feature. The A95L model features Multi-View where users can watch walk-throughs and gameplay guides side-by-side while playing their game.

With Google TV, users can access over 700,000 movies and TV episodes in one place across apps and subscriptions.

In addition, Sony has used twice as much Sony Recycle Plastic (SORPLAS) in this year’s Bravia XR TVs. During manufacturing, Sony is reducing overall plastic usage by approximately 60% and is cutting emissions by around 15% by using smaller and lighter packaging during transportation.

The new Eco Dashboard on all 2023 models allows users to customise energy saving preferences and settings.

The Sony X90L Full Array LED will be available in 55-, 65-, 75- and 85-inch, the A95L QD-OLED in 55-, 65- and 77-inch, while the A80 OLED will be available in 55-, 65-, 77- and 83-inch.
