Sony is adding to its entertainment suite with a revamped wireless speaker line-up and new soundbar in June.
The Extra Bass wireless speaker line-up comprises three models, the SRS-XB43, SRS-XB33 and SRS-XB23, that carry enhanced sound quality with new X-Balanced speaker units. The layout of the side passive radiators has been optimised to reproduce clear bass sound.
All models carry an IP67 water rating, are dustproof and rust resistant while the XB23 and XB33 are both shockproof. The SRS-XB23 comes in a new compact, lightweight and portable two-way design for displaying vertically or horizontally.
Other features, including 3D Live Sound and speaker lighting, are available on two models, the XB33 and XB43. Battery life varies from 12 to 24 hours, depending on the model. RRPs are $199, $299 and $399.
The new Sony soundbar, the HT-G700, comes with three front speakers that combined with Sony’s signal processing, delivers surround sound to a wider area. The soundbar can also upscale regular stereo audio to 7.1.2 surround sound for watching TV shows and movies.
In addition, the HT-G700 offers a dedicated centre speaker so vocals can be heard clearly. The sound or audio mode can be selected directly via a button on the remote control, with additional voice mode and night mode settings.
The powerful, wireless subwoofer and larger cabinet are designed to deliver a deeper, richer bass sound. Set-up with a TV is via Bluetooth or HDMI eARC/ARC. RRP is $899.
