Sony is releasing a new model of headphones designed with runners in mind. The off-ear headphones, Float Run feature a new headphone style that positions the speaker near, but without touching the ear canal, while still delivering a rich sound experience.

The lightweight design weighs just 33 grams and incorporates a flexible neckband that doesn’t slip when in motion even if a hat and sunglasses are worn.

The 16mm drivers and precise tuning combined with the off-ear style offers a more natural and wider sound so there is no compromise on sound quality. The Float Run headphones have an open-type design that eliminates echoes like footsteps, chewing or heavy breathing, while letting in ambient sound.

In addition to an IPX4 water resistant rating, the headphones deliver up to 10 hours playtime when fully charged, and a quick 10-minute charge provides an hour of play.

With a variety of controls built in, users can easily control playback and access their smartphone’s voice assistant. The Float Run headphones also incorporate a high-quality built-in microphone, making them ideal for productivity tasks. A carry pouch is included to keep the charging cable and headphones together and protected.

The Sony Float Run headphones will be available in Australia from April 2023 for SRP $259.95.
