The new appliances in the new Smeg x Porsche collaboration will be the most expensive toaster and kettle launched into the market this year, eclipsing Breville’s Eye Q launch earlier this month.
At an event held in Sydney last night, Smeg officially launched the Smeg x Porsche range of appliances and confirmed the pricing of its two-slice toaster will be $499 – $100 more expensive than the Breville Eye Q two-slice toaster.
This makes the Smeg x Porsche product the most expensive new two-slice toaster launched in Australia this year. The Smeg x Porsche kettle will also be the most expensive product in its category launched this year at a price of $499.
Breville also has a new Eye Q four-slice toaster priced at $499 – but there will be no competing product in the Smeg x Porsche range.
Overall, the most expensive toaster and kettle in Australia continues to be the Smeg x Dolce & Gabbana two-slice toaster and kettle that both retail for $1099.
The Smeg x Porsche toaster is available in Carrara White Metallic and Shade Green Metallic colours. Offering six different toasting levels, stainless steel body and three cooking functions – defrost, bagel and reheat. It offers two extra wide slots and automatic centres the bread in the machine.
Also within the Smeg x Porsche range are three models of the FAB28 refrigerator in Salzberg Red ($5999) as well as two additional models (RRP $4999) in Carrara White Metallic and Shade Green Metallic.

Two other products – the Smeg x Porsche kettle ($499) and blender ($599) are also available in both Carrara White Metallic and Shade Green Metallic colours.
Only 50 models of the limited-edition 917 Salzburg Red coffee machine (RRP $2499) will be available in Australia – with all models individually numbered.

Dozens of pieces have already been pre-ordered by passionate consumers according to Smeg even before the roll-out of the products to retailers has been completed.

The Smeg x Porsche products will be available through selected Harvey Norman and David Jones stores nationally – following a similar restricted distribution in place for the Smeg x Dolce & Gabbana collaboration.

Smeg head of marketing and product, Nick Elgin, told guests at the event last night that this was a unique collaboration that is unlike anything else available in the industry.

“I’d like you to imagine this – the rumble of a Porsche on an open road, the precision and the elegance and the beauty of every curve and every detail crafted to perform perfectly. Now imagine bringing that same spirit into your home – that has been achieved by the Porsche by Smeg collection,” Elgin said.

“This is more than a collaboration – it is the meeting of two brands that share the same DNA – excellence, craftsmanship and timeless design. Together we have created something that merges Porsche’s iconic automotive heritage with Smeg’s intelligent innovation and meticulous attention to detail.
“The collection features Porsche’s signature colourways from the signature Carrara White and Shade Green Metallic to the unforgettable 917 Salzburg Red – that pays tribute to Porsche’s first ever historic 1970 Le Mans victory with number 23 on the car. These aren’t just appliances – each piece is a collector’s item and a design statement in its own right.”
