Smeg has once again been recognised by the international design community with prestigious Good Design Awards in major, small and professional appliances.

Judged by an independent jury of international architects, designers and creatives, Good Design Awards recognise the best design in products conceived and created for consumers worldwide.

Since its inception over 70 years ago, the Awards have maintained their importance and relevance with criteria focusing on aesthetics, functionality, ecological compatibility, efficiency and sustainability, as well as symbolic and emotional contents.

In the major appliance category, Smeg achieved the coveted prize for the 60cm Dolce Stil Novo OmniChef oven and 90cm silver induction cooktop, both launching in Australia in Q2 this year.

In the small appliance category, the newly launched mini kettle and hand mixer designed in collaboration with leading Milanese design house, Deepdesign were awarded, while the Smeg Professional Foodservice Galileo oven, to be launched in Australia in Q3 this year, also received the award.

“The awards recognise Smeg’s constant commitment to creating products that add value to quality of life. It is gratifying to be reminded that our signature combination of aesthetic design and innovative technology offers an award-winning level of style, functionality and performance,” Smeg Australia managing director, Wayne Campbell said.
