Smeg and Dolce&Gabbana have renewed their partnership for the Blu Mediterraneo collection across Smeg breakfast and coffee sets. The latest collaboration was unveiled at a launch event in a private home on Sydney’s harbour, following its debut in Milan, Italy.
In classic Smeg style, guests were treated to a range of interactive food experiences and elevated flavours. Accents of blood orange and heirloom tomato throughout, food experiences included an affogatto station, live meat slicing, freshly squeezed blood orange juice and a breakfast grazing table brimming with Italian accents.
The collection spans Smeg’s kettle, two-slice toaster, citrus juicer, espresso coffee machine, coffee grinder and milk frother, all adorned with Mediterranean-inspired artwork.
Each set embodies Italian and Sicilian aesthetics, with the pattern deeply rooted in the South of Italy, a tribute to the values of ‘Fatto a Mano’ (handmade) and exceptional craftsmanship. All products are manufactured through an artistic decoration reproduction process based on an initial prototype painted by expert artisans.
Smeg head of product and marketing, Nick Elgin (pictured below) said, “Our previous collaboration with Dolce&Gabbana, Sicily is My Love, has been incredibly successful, confirming Smeg’s positioning in the premium space for small appliances. The ongoing collaboration with Dolce&Gabbana meets consumer demands for ever-more stylish and personalised kitchens.
“The Blu Mediterraneo range is entirely Made in Italy. The collaboration is a meeting of two Italian masters, and a tribute to the values of exceptional craftsmanship.”
The new collection of small appliances, now available from selected retailers, is created by Smeg with design by Matteo Bazzicalupo and Raffaella Mangiarotti and creativity by Dolce&Gabbana.
