Smeg’s FAB38 fridge and induction hob with integrated hood have been recognised by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design with 2020 Good Design Awards.

The FAB38 fridge was acknowledged for its unique and seamless design and innovative technologies designed for optimal food conservation and energy efficiency. The induction hob with integrated hood received an accolade for its synthesis between hob and hood featuring a powerful extractor fan and four cooking zones with nine intensity levels.

Curated by an international jury of leading designers, architects, and creative directors, the Good Design Awards criteria showcases innovations across functionality, ecological compatibility, aesthetics, symbolic and emotional contents.

Chicago Athenaeum selected 900 projects of excellence from 48 countries with record participation. Smeg received a total of nine Good Design Awards with two appliances available in Australia.
