Leading smart home tech provider, Aqara has launched a line-up of products in JB Hi-Fi stores as it sets up a retail presence in Australia, including a retrofit roller shade controller, video camera and smart home hubs.

The Aqara Roller Shade Driver E1 is a retrofit roller shade controller that can work with existing Roller Shades by operating the beaded cord. It can run wirelessly from the built-in battery or be plugged into a power supply via the provided USB Type-C cable.

The Aqara Camera Hub G3 (feature image) is a HomeKit Secure Video camera with facial and gesture recognition and 2K resolution. It includes Aqara’s most powerful Zigbee 3.0 smart home hub that can control existing IR-enabled devices.

The Aqara Hub M2 is a smart home control centre that can be connected through Wi-Fi or Ethernet network and supports interaction and connection with Aqara Zigbee accessories. It also can be used to control existing IR-enabled devices.

The Aqara Hub E1 is Aqara’s smallest yet powerful smart home hub. The Hub E1 shaft angle can be changed within 210 degrees, which makes its placing extremely flexible.

“We’ve seen an amazing response to Aqara products from Australians online. Partnering with JB Hi-Fi is an exciting next step, with retail giving shoppers the chance to have a play before they buy,” Aqara business development manager, Mark Berahmand said.

“We know the cost of smart products is a barrier for many people, along with installation worries. Our products are made for DIYers – there are no screws or wiring needed for most of our devices.

“Aqara has partnered with all the major platforms, so people can build with peace of mind. We’re also bringing Matter support to our existing Zigbee based products by pushing the over-the-air (OTA) update to selected Aqara hubs to ensure our range continues to have full compatibility as technology evolves.”

Aqara will be bringing its Lightbulb T1 and Curtain Driver E1 products to the Australian market in November, with more to come soon.
