Samsung Electronics has unveiled a range of new Galaxy devices during its Unpacked virtual event, including foldable smartphones, next-gen wearables and compact buds.
The third generation of Samsung foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3, are built with new Armor Aluminium on the frame and hinge cover, along with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus to protect against scratches, and for the first time on a foldable device, are equipped with IPX84 water resistance.
Both devices also include a new protective film made of stretchable PET6 and optimised display panel layers resulting in a main screen that is 80% more durable than previous devices. Thanks to enhanced Sweeper technology, the bristles inside the hinge are shorter, helping to repel dust and maintain durability.
Galaxy Z Fold3
Galaxy Z Fold3 is designed for multitasking with an undisrupted 7.6-inch Infinity Flex Display with new Eco display technology making it 29% brighter while consuming less energy. The Super Smooth 120Hz adaptive refresh rate is now on both the main and cover screens.

Enhanced Flex mode features allow users to join a video call on the device’s top screen while checking meeting notes on the bottom, while the updated Multi-Active Window enables users to make dinner plans over text while checking their calendar. The new Taskbar means users can quickly switch between apps without returning to the home screen.
With the first ever S Pen support on a foldable device, customers can choose between the S Pen Fold Edition and S Pen Pro, both featuring a specially engineered retractable Pro tip with force limit technology and even lower latency.
Galaxy Z Flip3
Galaxy Z Flip3 features a sleek, compact, and pocketable design with enhanced camera features and redesigned cover screen which is four times larger than its predecessor.

Users can check their schedule, the weather, and monitor their daily step count with new widgets, or coordinate the wallpaper with their new Galaxy Watch4 or Galaxy Watch4 Classic. With Samsung Pay built directly into the cover screen, users can easily check out on-the-go.
Packed with the latest camera features, users can take selfies handsfree with Flex mode or keep the device folded and capture a quick photo or video from the cover screen using enhanced Quick Shot by double-clicking the power key. Scrolling and sharing is even smoother thanks to the new 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
New and upgraded stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos deliver immersive sound with enhanced clarity, depth and spatial effects. When the device is partially folded, Flex Mode Panel offers an enhanced viewing experience by moving the video to the top half of the screen and controls like brightness and volume to the bottom half.
Galaxy Watch4 Series
Samsung’s Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic are the first smartwatches to feature the new Wear OS powered by Samsung built jointly with Google and are equipped with the company’s most intuitive user interface, One UI Watch.

The Galaxy Watch4 Series is equipped with Samsung’s 3-in-1 BioActive Sensor, which uses a single chip to run three powerful health sensors – Optical Heart Rate, Electrical Heart and Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis – to monitor heart rate, blood oxygen level, and, for the first time, calculate body composition including skeletal muscle mass, basal metabolic rate, body water and body fat percentage.
Users can choose from guided workouts, group challenges, track their calorie count and heartrate metrics, as well as sleep patterns with greater detail.
With One UI Watch, compatible apps can be automatically installed on the watch when downloaded on a phone with settings like do not disturb hours and blocked callers synced. Users can control their mobile experience with Bixby voice, bezel and gesture controls.
The Galaxy Watch4 Series boasts the first 5nm processor in a Galaxy Watch with 20% faster CPU and 50% more RAM, and a GPU 10 times faster than the previous generation for smoother scrolling and multitasking. The display’s resolution has been enhanced to 450×450 pixels for crisp visuals.
The Galaxy Watch4 Series boasts up to 40 hours of battery life, and just 30 minutes of charging provides up to 10 hours of battery.
Galaxy Buds2
As one of the latest additions to the Galaxy Buds line up, Galaxy Buds2 join the Galaxy Buds Live and Galaxy Buds Pro as the ideal companion to a Galaxy smartphone, tablet, or smartwatch.

The dynamic two-way speakers deliver crisp, clear high notes and a deep bass, Active Noise Cancellation helps block out unwanted noise, while three adjustable ambient sound levels allow users to hear their surroundings. Voices will be clearer on calls, thanks to a new machine learning-based solution designed to filter out a variety of background noises.
Galaxy Buds2 are Samsung’s smallest and lightest earbuds yet boasting an iconic curved shape. For a more perfect fit, Samsung has developed the ‘Earbud fit test’ in the Galaxy Wearable app.
