As weak demand continues.
Samsung has confirmed its exit from the Australian digital imaging market, due to changing market conditions.
In a statement provided to Appliance Retailer, the company said:
“Samsung Electronics Australia constantly reviews and assesses its product offering in Australia in order to ensure we meet the ongoing demands of customers and partners. We are committed to providing the best possible service and support to customers and partners and will continue to honour its agreements regarding all products we supply to Australians.”
The news comes just months after the company pulled out of the British market, citing consumers’ “gradual and sustained decline in demand for stand-alone digital cameras and camcorders.”
Samsung also confirmed the departure of digital imaging manager, Craig Gillespie, who left the company last month.
