Samsung has held a virtual press conference event ‘Life Unstoppable’ live from London to unveil its latest innovations in the TV category, introducing its first foray into laser projectors with The Premiere and The Terrace 4K QLED TV designed for the outdoors.

The Premiere 4K ultra short throw laser projector will be available in 120-inch (LSP7T) and 130-inch (LSP9T). It is the world’s first HDR10+ certified projector with triple laser technology and boasts peak brightness of up to 2,800 ANSI lumens.

Easy to install and set up, the projector supports Filmmaker Mode, comes equipped with Samsung’s Smart TV platform to experience a full range of streaming apps and includes mobile connectivity features such as Tap View and screen mirroring.

The Premiere has built-in sub woofers and Acoustic Beam surround sound so additional sound equipment is not required. It will become available in Australia in the coming months.

Samsung Australia director of audio visual, Hass Mahdi said, “It’s no secret that Australians want the ultimate in home entertainment and big screen experiences. Samsung’s The Premiere offers up to 130-inchs of 4K picture quality from an elegantly looking short throw triple laser projector creating a cinematic experience in the home.

“The Premiere builds on Samsung’s expanding range of lifestyle TVs, including The Frame, The Serif and The Sero. Samsung is committed to providing Australians with a rich and diverse portfolio of AV products that meet the changing tastes and experiences of households.”

The Terrace TV (pictured above) takes the home entertainment experience outdoors with an IP55 weather resistant rating. Available in 55-, 65- and 65-inch models, it offers a 4K resolution QLED display with 2,000 nits brightness – which is three times brighter than the Samsung TU8000 TV – in addition to anti-glare technology for clear visibility outdoors. The 200Hz motion rate is ideal for sports and other fast-moving content.

It comes with Multi View and Tap View for mobile connectivity, built-in voice assistants including Bixby and Amazon Alexa and Bluetooth connectivity.

“As a nation we love the outdoors and entertaining, especially as we come into summer,” Mahdi said.

“With a crystal clear QLED display and advanced Anti-Glare Technology, The Terrace is ideal to watch the big game with mates over a BBQ or enjoy a family movie night on a warm summer’s evening.

“The home is our sanctuary. Now more than ever as we adjust to life in the absence of large sporting events, live entertainment, and big gatherings – there is a demand for entertainment at home on the big screen.”

The Terrace Soundbar is designed to complement the outdoor TV entertainment experience with a one-body design and IP55 weather resistant rating. It can be mounted to a wall or directly to the Terrace TV, features 3.0 channel audio, Distortion Cancelling technology and wide range tweeters.

The Terrace is now available for pre-order from Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi and The Good Guys with an on-sale date in October 2020 at leading retailers nationally. The 55-inch model retails for $5,999, the 65-inch for $7,999 and the 75-inch for $10,999. The Terrace Soundbar retails for $1,299.
