Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 smartphones with multimodal AI agents, making the series Samsung’s most context-aware and intelligent mobiles to date. A custom Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform designed specifically for the Galaxy chipset provides on-device processing power for Galaxy AI, and a superior camera range thanks to the next-gen ProVisual Engine.

The Galaxy S25 series employs One UI 7 to understand a user’s needs and offer personalised AI experiences. Multimodal AI agents enable Galaxy S25 to interpret text, speech, images and videos to offer responses that feel natural. Upgrades to Google’s Circle to Search now easily identify phone numbers, emails and URLs on screen, letting users call, email or visit a website with a single tap.

Galaxy S25 easily switches between apps for follow-up actions such as saving event details. Enhanced natural language understanding means users can ask their phone to intuitively find a specific photo in Samsung Gallery or adjust the size of display fonts.

The range of tools on Galaxy AI have expanded, such as call transcripts and summaries. Writing Assist can summarise content and automatically format notes without the need to switch between apps. Drawing Assist enables users to be creative with sketches, text, or image prompts.

Improved privacy is also at the heart of Galaxy S25 with Personal Data Engine, which uses AI to analyse on-device data and deliver tailored experiences to reflect user preferences and usage patterns. All personalised data is kept secure with Knox Vault. One UI 7 has also been enhanced with safety features including Maximum Restrictions settings, improved Theft Protection and a new Knox Matrix dashboard to monitor the security status of connected devices.

Upgraded performance capabilities

The inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy platform makes Galaxy S25 the most powerful in the Galaxy S series. It provides a 40% performance improvement in NPU, 39% in CPU and 30% in GPU. This allows for cloud-based AI tasks, such as Generative Edit, to be moved on-device.

Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy was designed by Samsung and Qualcomm Technology. It is equipped with Vulkan Engine and improved Ray Tracing for smoother mobile gaming. AI image processing via ProScaler offers a 40% improvement in display image scaling quality, and the mobile Digital Natural Image engine supports greater display power efficiency with Galaxy IP.

AI processing and device usage runs efficiently with a heat dissipation structure, 40% larger vapor chamber and tailored thermal interface material.

Audio and visual improvements

High resolution sensors and a ProVisual Engine allow for ultra-detailed photos at almost any range. The new 50MP ultrawide camera has been upgraded from the previous 12MP camera for improved clarity and brightness.

10-bit HDR recording is now applied by default, and low-light videos are made clearer. Using a powerful processor, the Galaxy S25 can analyse movement and time to reduce noise and provide sharper, clearer footage.

Tools usually limited to specialised software are now available on mobiles, such as Audio Eraser for the removal of unwanted noise in videos.

Virtual Aperture provides a DSLR-like experience on mobile, integrated into Expert RAW. Galaxy Log ensures precise colour grading options for professional video production.

Portrait Studio has also been upgraded, offering users the ability to personalise avatars with more true-to-life facial expressions and analog-style filters for film-like aesthetics.

Durable design

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is the slimmest and lightest Galaxy S series to date, with rounded edges for a comfortable grip. It also features titanium and Corning Gorilla Armor 2 for improved durability.

The Galaxy S25 series includes a combined seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates for optimised performance and a longer lifespan. Mobile Refresh and device swap are made available through Samsung Care +.
