Russell Hobbs has announced a three-year global partnership with international humanitarian charity Action Against Hunger, launching during the week of World Food Day under the campaign banner Make a Meal Difference.
Through the partnership, Russell Hobbs has committed to donating more than AUD $500,000 (£270,000) over the next three years to support Action Against Hunger’s mission to end life-threatening hunger and malnutrition.
Together, the organisations aim to redefine the kitchen as a force for good — equipping people not only with the tools to prepare meals but also with the skills and confidence to put nourishing food on the table for themselves and their families.
Founded in 1979, Action Against Hunger operates in 56 countries and, in 2024, supported 26.5 million people in their fight against hunger and malnutrition. The organisation’s work combines frontline emergency response with long-term programs designed to prevent and treat malnutrition, ensuring access to nutritious food, clean water, and the opportunity to live with dignity.
The Make a Meal Difference campaign will serve as the creative umbrella for the partnership, with activities focused on raising awareness and inspiring the next generation across key markets including the UK, Germany, Spain, Poland, and Australia.
With the support of its partners, Action Against Hunger continues to reach people facing extreme hardship — from families across Asia living in poverty to communities in the Middle East affected by conflict, and displaced people in Ukraine striving to rebuild their lives amid war.
Tim Wright, Global President of Home & Personal Care at Spectrum Brands, parent company of Russell Hobbs, said: “For over 70 years, Russell Hobbs has been at the heart of homes, giving people the tools and confidence to create meals that matter. But we know that for millions of families around the world, preparing even the most basic meal is an everyday struggle.”
“That’s why we are proud to partner with Action Against Hunger. Together, we want to drive real change, helping communities across the globe to gain the skills and knowledge to make healthy, cost-effective meals for years to come.”
Jean-Michel Grand, Executive Director at Action Against Hunger, said: “We are proud to partner with Russell Hobbs to highlight the importance of good nutrition and the urgent need to ensure every family has access to the food they need to thrive.
“With conflicts rising and aid budgets shrinking, more children than ever are facing crisis levels of hunger. Funds raised through this partnership will help us reach those most at risk, and working alongside Russell Hobbs, we can expand our impact in the fight against malnutrition.”
The partnership will run until April 2028, with planned initiatives centred on education, creativity, and community engagement — all designed to tackle hunger and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.
