Toshiba has today announced that it has signed on as the Official Consumer Electronics Partner to the Sydney Swans AFL team, in time for their first game since winning the premiership at the end of last year.

The deal has been locked in for two years and will see the Toshiba brand displayed at the SCG during both home and away season matches, while the brand is also set to provide “its latest notebooks, tablets and TVs for use within the Sydney Swans headquarters at the Sydney Cricket Ground”.

Speaking about the sponsorship deal was the MD of Toshiba Australia, Mark Whittard.

“With this partnership, Toshiba continues to further its passion for supporting sports and athletes in Australia, most recently following on from its sponsorship of the Australian Open 2012,” said Whittard.

“We are delighted to be joining one of the most professional and successful sporting organisations in Australia and look forward to showcasing our products alongside the best that the AFL has to offer.”

And here’s Sydney Swans chief commercial officer, Grant Rose.

“We pride ourselves on the quality brands that surround the Swans and are really excited to welcome Toshiba into our family of sponsors, as an Associate Partner,” said Rose. “Through this partnership Toshiba will gain fantastic exposure for their range of notebooks, tablets and televisions at all Swans home matches at the SCG.

“Our Club has a reputation for successful, long term partnerships – underlined by our association with Principal Partner QBE, who have been supporting the Sydney Swans for over 25 years.

“We are excited about working with Toshiba during the 2013 AFL season and hopefully for many more to follow,” he said.
