Over 360 people attended the final gala dinner of the Retravision conference last night at the Alice Springs Convention Centre, where Retravision Joondalup and Ian Ray Electrics from Swan Hill walked away with the major awards.
The winner of the multi-store retailer of the year was the Dorsett Group from the Retravision Western group. Accepting the award was David Dorsett-Lynn and his team who were voted the best retailer in his category by the retailer’s suppliers and power partners.
The winner of store of the year over 1,000 square metres was Retravision Joondalup from the Retravision Western group. This is the second consecutive year that Retravision Joondalup has won this award and it was accepted on stage by Ben Davies.
The winner of store of the year under 1,000 square metres was Ian Ray Electrics in Swan Hill from the Retravision Southern group. Ian Ray, the former chairman of the Retravision group accepted the award from current chairman, Bill Harries.
The winner of the award for best supplier below $20 million was Dyson. The award, accepted by Mike Daish, represented strong growth for the brand that may increase sales sufficiently to not qualify for the category next year.
Sales of the brand’s upright and barrel bagless vacuum cleaners, have now been complemented by the launch of the handheld Dyson – DC16 – which has already captured well over 30 per cent of the market.
The winner of the award for best supplier above $20 million was Fisher & Paykel. The award, accepted by Mike Nepia, represented a strong year for the whitegoods brand which has included the purchase of De’Longhi’s Elba cooking factory in Italy and the introduction of the fashionable Project Luna gas cooktop, the recent controversial decision to leave the New Zealand washing machine market and the launch of the AquaSmart water efficient top loader.
