Fisher & Paykel chairman retires after nine years

SYDNEY, NSW: Ralph Waters has stepped down after nine years on the Fisher & Paykel board. He will be replaced as chairman by the company's recently appointed director, according to a statement from the whitegoods manufacturer.

Keith Turner, who was appointed as director in November 2010 will now take over as chairman of Fisher & Paykel. His position as director will be filled by Willem Roest, effective 1 March 2011.
Roest’s most recent role was with Fletcher Building Limited as the company’s chief financial officer. Roest’s tenure with Fletcher Challenge began in 1986 where his roles included managing director of Fletcher Residential and Fletcher Aluminium, according to a statement released on the Australian Securities Exchange.
