SYDNEY: The Australian subsidiary of Thomson will launch the company’s Digital Home range to the Australian market at the technology show CeBIT (Stand A22) in Sydney May 9-11.

“The products being launched at CeBIT have achieved an installed base of over 1.2 million homes in Europe,” said Thomson Telecom Australia national sales and marketing manager – telephone products, Brett Watts.

At CeBIT Hanover, Thomson demonstrated how using its DECT cordless Voice over Internet Protocol gateway, consumers can seamlessly connect an IP set-top box and send that as a wireless signal to more than one TV; a WiFi multimedia phone/s; a desktop and/or laptop computers; WiFi portable multimedia players and other cordless devices such as phones and digital media adaptors.

“The Digital Home range is an all in one solution bringing broadband speed services and connectivity to the home,” said Watts.

Watts is bullish about the potential for Thomson’s Digital Home products in Australia.

“These solutions have won enormous acceptance in Europe and with the appetite Australians have for new technology, we think our products will be a hit at CeBIT Sydney".
