SYDNEY: Canon Australia announced today that it has appointed Darren Ryan as senior category manager within its Consumer Imaging Products Group (CIPG).
Ryan told Current..com.au today that he will report to Canon Australia marketing manager CIPG – Stuart Poignand and will be responsible for analogue and digital single lens reflex (SLR) cameras, digital still cameras, inkjet printers, digital video cameras and consumable products.
Reporting to Ryan will be Scott Jackson – product manager for SLR and D-SLR products, KC Lu – product manager for printers and a digital video camera product manager who is due to be appointed in coming weeks.
Ryan, who has recently completed the Kokoda Track in just six days, joins Canon from IBM, where he was marketing manager for the company’s small to medium businesses in Australia and New Zealand.
Ryan was responsible for client insight and brand programs for the company’s small to medium business excluding the top 100 clients.
Ryan replaces Jamison Yu, who left the company earlier this year.
