Every Friday on Current.com.au, the team chooses the most impressive new product from the preceding week to be named our Product of the Week. The main criteria for this award are that the product is saleable and can inject value back into the industry.

A twist on Product of the Week this week as Fisher & Paykel collect the award for its re-fit-out of the Sydney Seafood Cooking School with Next Generation 60-centimentre built-in ovens.

Fisher & Paykel has been partnering with the School for more than three years, giving aspiring chefs a chance to prepare paella, sear snapper and chilli up a crab on the best appliances the company has to offer.

“Sydney Seafood School is our first cooking school partner to receive the new 60-centimetre Built-in Ovens, after we launched the range at this year’s Good Food & Wine Show series,” said F&P experiential and appliances manager Julia Morrison.

“We plan to install the new ovens at our other cooking school partners over the next few months.”

Here are some pics from the new installation:

Current.com.au has enjoyed a few lessons at the Seafood Cooking School and it is one of the best hands-on experiences you can have with a set of appliances.

“Fisher & Paykel wants to be a part of creating memorable food experiences, which is why we are so focused on the experiential side of our marketing strategy,” Morrison said. “At our partner cooking schools consumers are able to ‘test drive’ our appliances — actually use them and feel how they work — which helps them make up their mind regarding purchase.”

So while we normally give this Award to an individual product, this week is goes to Fisher & Paykel’s new product installation. Try the fish!
