Panasonic has introduced two new steam generators for ease and efficiency when ironing clothes, no matter the material.

Unlike regular irons where the water evaporates on the soleplate, Panasonic’s steam generators release a continuous boost of steam that is maintained by an internal boiler. The two new models come with a large 1.8-litre water tank capacity and are equipped with anti-calc measures to prevent build-up of impurities from water and help maintain steam power.

The NI-GT500 (pictured below) offers an optimal soleplate temperature of 135°C so users don’t need to set the temperature, although there is an option to increase the temperature to 155°C. It only requires water inside the boiler to be poured out once a year (depending on water hardness).

The NI-GT200 (main image) features a handy temperature dial for users to easily adjust the heat based on fabric type. It only requires the water to be emptied once every three weeks (depending on water hardness).

The Calc-Indicator notifies users when it is time to empty the steam generator.

“Our aim is always to make things easier for our customers. With our high-pressure steam generators, we manage to achieve just that by helping busy people save time and energy,” Panasonic Australia product marketing manager for appliances, Ginger Yu said.

“The steam is evenly distributed throughout the soleplate and delivers a perfect finish. No need to fear leaving a burn mark on your clothes. Since these are pure steam generators, whether it’s delicate like silk or tough like denim, it’ll never leave a burn mark on any type of fabric.”

The Panasonic Steam Generator NI-GT500NSJ in black and gold with 2400W power input and 720g steam boost is now available for $629. The Panasonic Steam Generator NI- GT200ASJ in black and navy with 2400W power input and 600g steam boost is available for $439.
