Morphy Richards has put a new spin on an essentially bland product, launching a new Facebook site to promote its ironing range. Featuring the bare-chested, six-packed merchant ‘Iron Man’, the site is offering fans the chance to win $5,000 by uploading their own video.

Once a Facebook user has ‘Liked’ the Morphy Richards page, they are able to control ‘Iron Man’, with options including ‘Get Comfy’, ‘Get Steamy’ and ‘Wet T-Shirt’.

The accompanying competition has a $10,000 prize pool, with entrants needing to make a video no longer than one minute that shows their love of ironing.

“It doesn't necessarily have to be steamy, but we're after a fun or quirky video of you or your loved one ironing. Or doing an iron dance, or singing a love song to your iron or even an iron psychological thriller,” reads the rules.

Facebook users will then vote on which video wins the cash.
